Terms of Service
Effective 3 October 2026 · Last updated 20 October 2026
These are the rules for using VersePilot. We have tried to write them in plain English rather than boilerplate, because terms nobody can read protect nobody.
This agreement
These Terms are a contract between you and Paolo Douglas Escobar Guardado ("VersePilot", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using VersePilot, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of this agreement.
Who can use VersePilot
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you may use VersePilot only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and only they may buy a plan or a token pack on your behalf.
You must be legally able to enter into this contract, and you must not be barred from using the service under the laws that apply to you. One person, one account. Accounts are personal to you and may not be shared, resold, or transferred.
What VersePilot is, and what it is not
VersePilot is an AI assistant specialised in Fortnite Creative and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). It answers questions about Verse and the UEFN editor and writes Verse code, grounded in a knowledge base we maintain from Epic's published Verse API digests and documentation.
It is a tool that helps you write code. It is not a guarantee that the code is correct.
You are responsible for what you publish. Always review, compile and test generated code in your own project before shipping it to players. UEFN changes frequently, our knowledge base can lag behind an update, and an AI model can be confidently wrong. Treat every answer as a well informed draft by a colleague, not as a verified build artifact.
We make no promise that VersePilot's output will compile, behave as described, be suitable for your project, or comply with Epic Games' rules for published islands.
Your account
Keep your login details secure, and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for activity that happens under it.
You must give us an accurate email address, because that is how we verify your account and reach you about billing and service changes.
Plans, tokens and billing
VersePilot is a paid service. There is no free tier and no free trial.
Usage is measured in tokens, which is how AI models measure the text going in and coming out. A single message typically uses somewhere between roughly 15,000 and 30,000 tokens depending on how long the answer is and how much reference material and conversation history it needs, so a plan's allowance translates to an approximate number of messages rather than an exact one. Any message estimates we give are estimates, not entitlements.
- Subscription allowances
- Each plan includes a token allowance for each billing period. The allowance resets at the start of each period and does not roll over. Unused tokens from one period are not carried into the next.
- Token packs
- One time purchases that stack on top of your plan. Pack tokens never expire, and are only consumed once the current period's allowance has run out.
- Renewal
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then current price, until you cancel. We will tell you in advance if the price changes.
- Who you are buying from
- Polar is our merchant of record. Your purchase contract for payment is with Polar, they handle tax and invoicing, and their terms apply to the transaction itself.
- Fair use
- Daily limits and rate limits apply to protect the service from abuse and runaway cost. They are set well above normal individual use. If you hit one during ordinary work, tell us.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel a subscription at any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal. Your plan stays active, with its allowance, until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro rate a partly used period.
If VersePilot is not what you expected, email us within 14 days of a purchase and we will refund it in full, provided you have not used any of the tokens it granted. Once tokens have been spent we have already paid to generate those answers on your behalf, and that cost cannot be recovered, so a used allowance cannot be refunded.
If you are a consumer in the UK or EEA, you normally have a 14 day right to withdraw from a digital services contract. By starting to use VersePilot immediately after purchase, you ask us to begin supplying the service within that period and you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal for the portion you have used. The refund offer above is given voluntarily and sits on top of your statutory rights, which nothing here removes.
Token packs are consumable. Once tokens have been used they cannot be refunded.
Template Library script packs are sold as digital content delivered immediately. Because the full source code is available to you the moment you pay, and can be copied and kept, script packs are non-refundable. Before you pay we ask you to confirm that you want immediate access and that you accept you are giving up the 14 day right to change your mind, and you cannot buy a pack without that confirmation. This does not apply if a pack is faulty or is not what it was described to be. Tell us and we will put it right or refund it.
Billing disputes and chargebacks
If you think a charge is wrong, email us first. We would far rather fix a billing mistake directly, and we can usually do it the same day.
Please do not go straight to your bank. Because Polar is our merchant of record, a card dispute is raised against them, but the cost lands on us: a chargeback carries a fixed fee that is charged whatever the outcome, and on a small subscription that fee can exceed the payment itself. Contacting us at support@versepilot.dev costs you nothing and is faster.
- While a dispute is open we may suspend access to your account so we can investigate.
- Raising a chargeback without contacting us first is a breach of these Terms.
- If a dispute is resolved and your account is in good standing, we will restore access.
- Repeated or unresolved disputes may result in your account being closed, and you remain responsible for any amounts and fees still outstanding.
None of this limits your statutory rights, or your right to dispute a genuinely fraudulent charge you did not make.
Your content and who owns what
- What you put in stays yours
- Your prompts, the scripts you paste, save or pin, and your project details remain yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store that content, and to send it to our AI provider so it can be answered. Nothing more.
- What comes out is yours to use
- As between you and us, you own the code and explanations VersePilot generates for you, and you may use them in your commercial projects with no attribution required and no royalty.
- But output is not exclusive
- AI output is generated, not authored. Another user asking a similar question may receive a similar answer, and depending on your jurisdiction AI generated material may not attract copyright protection at all. We cannot and do not promise exclusivity or ownership beyond our own claims.
- What stays ours
- VersePilot itself, meaning the application, our UEFN knowledge base, our templates, our prompts and our branding, remains ours. You may not copy, resell, or use it to build a competing service, and you may not use automated means to extract our knowledge base.
Acceptable use
Use VersePilot for building things. Specifically, do not:
- Resell, sublicense or share your access, or use one account to serve multiple people.
- Use automated means to send messages at scale, scrape our knowledge base, or work around rate limits, token allowances or daily caps.
- Attempt to extract our system prompts or knowledge base, or to make the model ignore its instructions.
- Submit content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that you are not permitted to share.
- Use VersePilot to create anything that breaks Epic Games' rules, or to generate malware or code intended to harm other players or systems.
- Probe, attack or disrupt the service or the infrastructure it runs on.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first.
Epic Games and UEFN
VersePilot is an independent tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Epic Games, Inc. Fortnite, UEFN and Verse are trademarks of Epic Games, Inc.
Your use of Fortnite, UEFN and anything you publish through them is governed by Epic's own agreements and policies. You are responsible for complying with them, and nothing VersePilot tells you overrides them.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep VersePilot available and accurate, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may need to interrupt it for maintenance, and parts of it depend on providers we do not control, most obviously our AI provider.
We may change or discontinue features, and we may change the token allowance included in a plan or in the token packs we sell. Tokens from a pack you have already bought are never reduced. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan provides, such as a smaller monthly token allowance, we will tell you in advance, and you may cancel and receive a pro rated refund for the remainder of the period you have paid for.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, VersePilot is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non infringement.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, lost revenue, lost players or lost data, or for any loss arising from your reliance on generated code, including an island that fails to publish, behaves incorrectly, or is moderated by Epic.
Our total liability to you for any claim relating to VersePilot is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or fifty US dollars.
Ending this agreement
You may stop using VersePilot at any time, and you may delete your account yourself from the Account page. Deleting your account removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy, and does not by itself refund an unused subscription period. Ask us if you want both.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially break these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service entirely. If we discontinue the service, we will refund any unused portion of a paid period.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of El Salvador, and the courts of El Salvador have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may also bring proceedings there.
General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer this agreement to someone else. We may transfer it if VersePilot is acquired, and will tell you if that happens.
If we change these Terms materially, we will tell you by email or in the application before the change takes effect. Continuing to use VersePilot after that means you accept the new version.
